Fault divorce is a kind of divorce where one party blames the other for the failure of their marriage.  The divorce is granted to one spouse based on some proven wrongful act done by the other.  The grounds of fault may be adultery, insanity, physical or metal cruelty, imprisonment, insanity, impotence or infecting the other spouse with some venereal disease.  A fault divorce can be prevented through defenses like condonation, connivance, provocation and collusion.
